The natural world has an abundance of wisdom to offer today's children. A Way of Life is a Waldorf-inspired nature school for fully potty-trained children, ages 3-5. We run year-round at various natural areas in Fort Collins and Loveland, such as near Spring Canyon Park and Prospect Ponds. We're currently running on Wednesdays, from 9am-1pm. The cost is $150 per 4 week session, or $40 per day. Our mornings include a short hike, song, dance/movement, free-play, handwork, and storytelling. GUIDING FORCES
Waldorf Inspiration Immersed in the seasons - our song, verse, and stories reflect what is happening all around us. Our guidance is informed by the essential ingredients of warmth and rhythm as well as the freedom of movement and imagination. Rudolf Steiner, the founder of Waldorf Education said “The need for imagination, a sense of truth, and a feeling of responsibility - these three forces are the very nerve of education.” Natural Setting What western science has to say about this foreign topic:
Contemplative Approach A contemplative approach informs what we are consciously aware of as teachers and students of young people. Chogyam Trungpa, a buddhist meditation master said “Actually, we do not see things completely as they are. Generally we perceive something, and then we look. Looking in this case is the act of imposing names and associations on things. Seeing things means accepting what they are.” |
